Specific Job Description

RMSL is a growth company with an outstanding job opportunity for a Test Engineer 1. This position will report to a Senior Engineer. The Test Engineer 1 will be an integral part of a small cross functional team working on an exciting development project with cutting-edge technology. In this role, the ideal candidate will be responsible for mentorship, proposal writing, planning and executing project deliverables, and winning business. This individual must demonstrate innovation, an understanding of various engineering systems, out-of-the-box thinking and creativity.

Duties Include:

  • Design, coordinate, and execute test plans that meet customer requirements while placing safety first

  • Design and implement high-tech instrumentation that collects the data sought in a safe and reliable manner

  • Perform literature surveys, as required, to collect available information and identify gaps in existing research of materials

  • Author and edit high-quality technical reports

  • Participate in the brainstorming and design process for new products, instrumentation, and processes

  • Gain knowledge and skills in the laboratory testing portion of RMSL. Assist in laboratory testing and designing laboratory test plans, as required

  • Interface with RMSL customers, teammates, and partners in a professional manner and exhibit effective communication

Required Skills

  • Experience in dynamic experimentation and high-speed instrumentation (data and video)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work with a cross-functional team

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Excellent technical Writing Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Physical requirements:

    • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time; must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.; must have the ability to see near and far and work with a computer monitor on a daily basis

    • Required to bend, sit, stand and lift to perform job effectively

  • Must be able to work overtime as required

Desired Skills

  • Experience with energetic materials.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field

  • Minimum 3 years in energetic material testing

  • US Citizenship

  • Ability to obtain security clearance
