Specific Job Description

RMSL is a growth company with an outstanding job opportunity for a scientist position in Atlantic City, New Jersey. RMSL recently won a contract as a sub-contractor with responsibility to provide staffing needs in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

 

Duties Include

  • Serving as a senior technical expert

  • Performing or directing research and/or development of security systems

  • Performs literature searches and assessing current state of the art in planning and executing research and development programs

 

Required Skills

  • Must be able to test and/or evaluate various types of explosive detection systems

  • Must be able to write, review and or comment on plans and procedures, as well as implement a variety of complex analytical procedures

  • Knowledge and experience in science and technology used in explosive trace detection

  • Knowledge and experience in analytical analysis, thermal desorption and gas chromatography mass spectrometry method development

  • Knowledge and experience of and with performing physical characterization (e.g., surface area, porosity, BET measurements, etc.)

  • Knowledge and experience in the use of LabView for experiment control and data acquisition, COMSOL or similar software to analyze and model the flow of particles and vapor, and Mathematica, Matlab, or similar programming languages for analysis and modeling

  • Ability to write project documents with little supervision

  • Ability to brief customer on ongoing activities; meet with customer and other relevant personnel as required

  • Prepares and gives presentations at professional conferences and other meetings

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Physical requirements:

    • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time;  must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.; must have the ability to see near and far and work with a computer monitor on a daily basis

    • Required to bend, sit, stand and lift to perform job effectively

  • Must be able to work overtime as required

  • Professional knowledge must be defined as comprehensive, in-depth knowledge of advanced technology development

  • Excellent leadership skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have a M. S.  in a natural science (physics, chemistry, or related) plus 12 or more years of experience, and/or a Ph.D. in a natural science (physics, chemistry, or related) plus 6 or more years of post-graduate experience

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience

  • US Citizenship

  • Ability to obtain security clearance
