Specific Job Description
RMSL is a growth company with an outstanding job opportunity for a Laboratory Director. This position will report to the CEO/President. The Laboratory Director will be an integral part of a small cross functional team working on an exciting development project with cutting-edge technology. In this role, the ideal candidate will be responsible for mentorship, proposal writing, planning and executing project deliverables, and winning business. This individual must demonstrate innovation, an understanding of various engineering systems, out-of-the-box thinking and creativity.
Duties Include:

Project engineering tasks such as report writing, technical presentations (at customer and public meetings), and technical deliverables tracking

Work as a member of RMSL leadership team to design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures

Implement best practice scientific and engineering methods
-
Provide technical guidance to engineering staff

Establish organizational objectives by developing goals and strategies.

Implement policies that promote company culture

Managing group leaders and providing them with the resources necessary to complete their job

Serve as a mentor to the middle management technical staff

Be a leader and role model for other employees at RMSL with regards to productivity, ethics, core values, etc.

Implementing corrective action when needed

Reporting facility and equipment resource suitability to management team

Manage and oversee explosive regulatory requirements

Technical expertise in energetic materials, armaments, and weapon systems

Work with the CEO/President to identify and implement business development opportunities

Work with the CEO/President to develop effective growth strategies and processes

Customer relationship development

Required Skills

Extensive knowledge of project and personnel management

Extensive experience writing proposals

Subject matter expert in the areas of energetic materials, energetic devices, materials processing, test and measurement, manufacturing, automation

Identify, plan and lead the execution of opportunities for operational improvement, including quality control, process documentation, safety, cost savings, staff restructuring, and training

Lead the engineering/scientific team leadership to work with the finance team to ensure forecasting and reporting are accurate and up-to-date

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Physical requirements:

Must be able to sit for extended periods of time; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.; must have the ability to see near and far and work with a computer monitor on a daily basis

Required to bend, sit, stand and lift to perform job effectively

Must be able to work overtime as required
Minimum Qualifications

Must have a BS and/or MS in a related field of study such as Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related field

Ability to obtain security clearance

Ability to obtain CO State Blaster’s Permit
