Specific Job Description:

RMSL is a growth company with an outstanding job opportunity for a Facilities Technician position with the Operations Team. The Facilities Technician will be an integral part of a small cross functional team supporting the business operations and facility infrastructure.  In this role, the ideal candidate will be responsible for maintenance of the facility, organization of different work areas, and supporting the engineering team efforts in various activities. This individual must demonstrate a mechanical aptitude, a strong safety mindset, an ability to learn, out-of-the-box thinking and creativity. This position is full time, at-will exempt and will report to the Director of Operations.

 

Duties Include:

Coordination of Vendors for onsite/offsite maintenance work to include, but not limited to:

  • Exterior grounds

  • Snow removal

  • Trash removal

  • Recycling

  • Document shredding

  • Carpet cleaning

  • HVAC Maintenance

  • Vehicle maintenance

  • Forklift maintenance

  • Security system service provider

  • Locksmith

  • Vendor escort

 

Conducting light maintenance to include, but not limited to:

  • Ceiling tile replacement

  • Patch & painting of interior office walls and corridors

  • Light bulb replacement

  • Hanging pictures, posters, and signs

  • Assembling and installing bookshelves, shelves, cabinets

  • Minor door repair (adjusting hinges, adjusting lockset)

  • Minor electrical repair and diagnostics for referral to service provider

  • Minor plumbing repair and diagnostics for referral to service provider

  • Office/cubicle set-up and people moves

  • Grounds maintenance – trash pick-up, minor tree/landscape trimming

  • Tracking all facility maintenance work orders

  • Sustainable Champion – implement and maintain sustainability program.

  • Area owner for 6-S program working collaboratively with department leads

  • Daily check-in/check-out of energetic material to the R&D and Testing team

  • Assist in the preparation of the annual facilities budget

 

Required Skills:

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to organize, multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

  • General knowledge of commercial building maintenance

  • General knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and safety regarding proper tool use.

  • Ability to become an employee possessor of energetic material

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Professional appearance and demeanor

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Reliable personal vehicle to run errands

  • Past work in facilities, construction, or commercial real estate maintenance

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Working experience in similar role(s)

  • Certification from the International Facilities Management Association

    • Facility Management Professional

    • Sustainable Facilities Professional

    • Certified Facility Manager

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.; must be able to work on elevated platforms or ladders; must be able to work with a computer monitor on a daily basis

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, employees may work in conditions that require the use of personal protective equipment such as face protection (safety glasses, goggles, face shield), foot protection (i.e., steel toed shoes, rubber boots, etc.), gloves, hard hat, shop coat and hearing protection. The work environment may also require a combination of indoor and outdoor activity (hot, cold, wet, humid conditions) with a varied amount of walking, standing, and sitting.
