Specific Job Description

RMSL is a growth company with an outstanding job opportunity for a Fabrication/Assembly Technician. This position will report to a Senior Engineer. The Technician will be an integral part of a small cross functional team working on an exciting development project with cutting-edge technology.  In this role, the ideal candidate will be responsible for assembly, troubleshooting, testing, and fabrication.  This individual must demonstrate reliability, efficiency, and the ability to work with little supervision using a scientific methodology. 

 

Duties Include

  • Assembling mechanical and electromechanical systems and ensuring they work properly

  • Troubleshooting malfunctioning equipment

  • Running and maintaining fabrication equipment

  • Light design work in relation to equipment setup

  • Assisting in troubleshooting and maximizing efficiency of a manufacturing line

  • Handling of energetic materials

  • Assembly of specialized munitions

  • Assisting in firearms related testing

Required Skills

  • Problem solver that can work in a team environment on fast pace projects

  • Ability to work hands-on building and assembling mechanical systems

  • Exercises creative thinking and innovation

  • Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing and mechanical assembly / processes

  • Ability to analyze and manufacture complex assemblies

  • Familiarity with manufacturing, test, and qualification. Knowledge of CNC and conventional machining and machine shop theory

  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software packages such as SolidWorks a plus

  • Direct experience with operation of a lathe and basic shop tools

  • Preferred experience with explosives or firearms

  • Preferred experience with Quality Control

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Technical writing background a plus

  • Physical requirements:

    • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.; must have the ability to see near and far and work with a computer monitor on a daily basis

    • Required to bend, sit, stand and lift to perform job effectively

    • Must be able to work overtime as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have at least 2 years formal fabrication experience

  • Ability to obtain CO Type 1 Explosives permit
