Specific Job Description

RMSL is a growth company with an outstanding job opportunity for a Test Technician. This position is full time, at-will non-exempt and will report to the Group Lead of the Testing Division at RMSL.

 

Duties Include

  • Help design, coordinate, and execute test plans that meet customer requirements while placing safety first

  • Assist engineers and technicians in the construction, setup and implementation of high-tech instrumentation and test assemblies that collects data in a safe, effective and reliable manner

  • Participate in the brainstorming and design process for new products, instrumentation, and processes

  • Safely and effectively run and maintain test equipment and instrumentation

  • Help design and assemble test stands and fixtures

  • Assist in explosive and firearms related testing

  • Assist and support engineering duties in laboratory and field testing (hands-on)

  • Operation, maintenance, calibration, and cleaning of testing equipment

  • Interface with RMSL customers, teammates, and partners in a professional manner and exhibit effective communication

  • Perform other duties and assumes other responsibilities as requested

  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization

Required Skills

  • Novice technical experience-familiar with shop/laboratory and equipment

  • Demonstrate attention to detail and strong work ethic

  • Actively participates and contributes to a team environment

  • Ability to work hands-on building and assembling mechanical systems

  • Must be able to follow schematics, assembly drawings, safety operating procedures, and execute test plans

  • Ability to use basic hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.) and simple measurement tools, such as calipers and rulers

  • Soft skills such as effective verbal skills, effective writing, organization and clarity of thought, and ability to work as a valued cross-functional team member

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and MS Office suites

  • Practices attentive and active listening; comfortable working alone or in a group on a tough assignment; able to multi-task

  • Ability to implement work plans, make sound decisions from observations, and carry out instructions

  • Desire to work in a fast-paced productive environment

  • Physical requirements:

    • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time; must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.; must have the ability to see near and far and work with a computer monitor on a daily basis

    • Required to bend, sit, stand and lift to perform job effectively

    • Work in an office environment as well as laboratory and outdoor test range

  • Must be able to work overtime when necessary to reach goals

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with working experience in a relevant technical role required

  • B.S. Degree in related field a plus

  • US Citizenship

  • Ability to obtain security clearance

  • Ability to obtain State of Colorado Type 1 Explosives Blaster permit

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with data acquisition systems or test sensors/diagnostics for high pressure and temperature environments

  • Experience in a test environment that included energetic materials, explosives, or firearms
